shopping hub as we have a good trade area, I hope
we can keep our business and add more; I would like
to see in the future an efoort to consolidate with
area schools for education and other activities; As

is our greatest asset; Limited shopping is a major
problem for those who cannot just get into a car and
travel to Minot or Bismarck; Need to promote a POSITIVE
attitude about Harvey and the residents; ground level
building for food pantry; we need a Pamida or Alco
or something similar; thanks for having the informative
meeting and delicious meal; It's the same few people
getting involved all the time no one else wants to
do it or are not asked and we complain too much when
things to go our way but won't help, I don't know
what you can do to get others involved; need a veterinarian;
more electricians & plumbers; motel (3 times);
get peoples mindset to at least ask local businesses
if an item is available before they head to Minot
or Bismarck; We are very fortunate to have a radio
station but they could choose topics & comments
which aren't so rude or sexual-not for young listeners
oftentimes; We need to work to revive community spirit
and try to diminish the apathy; Harvey is on the brink
of growing or declining. What determines how we go
is more good paying jobs, new business that can survive.

What things would you like to see Harvey focus on
for the surrounding area, i.e., Drama, Arts, Music,
Religious Activities, Conventions, Promotional Events,

22. Housing for the elderly/disabled
23. We need to have promotional events and conventions
to draw more people to our area. During that time
we also could have some sort of drama and music to
keep the people here.
24. Get our new motel built
25. Facility to host performing arts events, conventions,

Wages and benefits must be competitive {#64}

and does anyone go?? {#69}

and it is a good thing to combine with the Chamber

unique to Harvey. River Days?? Drag R, Rodeo Days??,
We have tried a number of things, but I think we bail
out too quickly when perhaps the first year wasn't
considered a huge success. We need to build on them
annually. For example, the Dickens Festival in Garrison
has grown because the businesses and residents were
committed to it. {#67}
What about a racetrack with a straightaway for drag
race? {#71}
41. Fine dining restaurant
Great idea {#83}
42. As soon as the surrounding communities start working
together like the surrounding Fire Depts. things will
start happening. None of the fire departments thought
they needed help, but all of a sudden they worked
together and good things started happening, and now
they are like one big area fire department. They are
no longer jealous of each other and work together,
especially during emergencies. We have the strongest
department group in the state. The communities could
do the same if they made up their minds, and realized
that together big things and good things will happen.

something we may have to give something up. {#47}
The community has to be ready to give up Harvey Hornets
and consider {#52}
The community must be ready to give up Harvey Hornets
and become Central Dakota something {#54}
Lets look at what is best for the kids and not just
one community {#56}
29. Have a community calendar available to the public
of school activities
It's on the school website now. {#55}
What is the web address? {#57}
30. Offer craft classes (evening)
31. We are getting smaller and even though it is tough,
consolidation is one way to go. We have excellent
facilities here, but are losing students to make use
of them. If communities and schools don't get to
